A popular fish type that many people stock their aquariums with are Bottom Feeder -- or bottom-dwelling -- fish, which include loaches, Plecostomus (or Plecos), Cory catfish (Cory cats), Otocinclus catfish, crayfish, freshwater shrimp, and snails.
