- Does API TRIPLE SULFA™ fish remedy affect water pH?
None of our fish remedies affect the pH to any appreciable amount in the normal aquarium environment, as therapeutic levels of the fish remedies are measured in ppm amounts (we are adding very little for the volume of water). That said, if a pH change does occur, that means that there is actually a different issue in the aquarium: that of low KH. Low KH in the aquarium will cause pH swings when any acidic or basic material (no matter how small) is added to the aquarium and is an inherently dangerous situation for the fish. If you are concerned with pH changes, make sure that your KH is above 40-50ppm (around 3 DKH). This will ensure that no pH swings occur.
